Dennis Reis Evaluation | October 26, 2007
Hurricane Utah
Chelsie traveled to Hurricane Utah for her Dennis Reis evaluation. It couldn’t have gone better!!! She passed everything with flying colors, and even passed several of the “Horseman” level tasks (Horseman is his highest expert level.) She received a total of 13 endorsements, qualifying her to become a certified Dennis Reis instructor. Her next step is to go to his ranch, so that he can observe her teaching others.
Here are a few of the skills that she had to demonstrate:
In the “Invisible Roundpen” (working at liberty in a large arena) she had to have her horse canter small circles around her, perform the “million dollar move”, side pass to her and away from her, and then perform these tasks and others as Dennis ran a herd of horses all around in the arena. She had to keep her horse with her (without a halter), cantering around her while these other horses tore all over in the arena. The herd even ran in between Chelsie and her horse…but Chelsie had no trouble keeping her horse with her and focused on the task at hand. It was amazing!!!
Then, she had to have her horse jump barrels set up vertically just by directing her with body language.
In the mounted section, she had to do flying lead changes, sliding stops and many other tasks bridleless.
These are just a few of the tasks that she performed to demonstrate the level of trust and cooperation she has developed with her horse. She earned a belt buckle with a diamond. Now, here is the big news…. Dennis Reis was so incredibly impressed with her, that he is going to feature her in an upcoming episode on RFD TV! We will let you all know when it is going to air so that you can be sure to watch it.
Update! Watch the RFD TV Coveraage of Chelsie at this event!
